Copper Special Event Pins

This grouping of copper custom made special event pins were made by Pins by Frank in 2015.  They were designed with great attention to detail by Contagious House Marketing in the UK  an International Corporation.  It is my understanding that the pins were made for special events of the company.  The models were all made by Peter Birch who also is a master of detail.

Metropolis Lighthouse Pin – “HopeLight”

The Metropolis Lighthouse pin was made by Pins By Frank  in 2014 at the request of Rudy Bess, Founding Director of the Hope Light House Foundation. The pin is an outstanding replica of the Light house located in Metropolis, Illinois-yes also known as the home of Superman & Lois Lane!

“The lighthouse was  dedicated to fight against all cancer on Nov 5, 2014.  It stands 30 feet tall and consists of a white conical shaped, reinforced steel tower beneath a teal daymarkband and black lantern room with a white-light flashing beacon. It overlooks the Ohio River in Metropolis, Illinois. The white tower represents the fight against lung cancer, the teal daymarkband represents the fight against ovarian cancer, the black lantern room is symbolic of a cancer patient’s dark journey and the white light represents Hope that all cancer patients will be cancer survivors and lead full and active lives. “

National Guard Association of RI

The National Guard Association of Rhode Island has selected several pins from our Rhode Island pin collection when attending the annual meeting.  In 2010 they opted to create a custom pins and asked Pins By Frank to make a clam with the their Association initials and the date.  Other pins they have selected include our Rhode Island Rooster pin, our Ocean State pin and our lighthouse pins with RI.

Johnson & Wales University College of Hospitality Management

As we celebrate 18 years in business, we think back to our first customer, Johnson & Wales University College of Hospitality Management, Providence Rhode Island.  In 1999, Dr. Karen Silva expressed interest in a custom made lapel pin for incoming students of the Hospitality College.

Our business was and still is heavily focused on hospitality.  We customized our medium pineapple pin, adding the letters JWU.  The letters have hand-painted blue behind them and the pin is finished in shiny gold.  These pins are still being ordered each year for incoming students who I am told love them.  Since that time many other education facilities have opted to choose to have their letters placed on our medium and large pineapple pins.

I have learned that the pins have travelled internationally as well.  Johnson & Wales University attracts many International students and the message of Hospitality is truly International.

Over time the Denver and Charlotte campuses have also ordered for their incoming hospitality students.

In addition to the hospitality college, we also have made pins for Johnson & Wales student clubs and organizations.
